To those who require a little bit of background information about me, I will enlighten you with a few details, but I prefer to let my work do the talking. I hope you like what it says.

Being a photographers son, I was brought up with an interest in photography and the arts.

Photography is a quick way to produce a pleasing picture and with the advent of digital photography I was introduced to the ability of manipulating images through 'Photoshop'. I enjoy restoring old photo's and retouching damaged ones, but nothing can replace the buzz of creating a portrait in oil paints.

However, the keen eye needed for detail in photo manipulation does seem to have helped me immensely in my paintings and I am more than grateful for that.

As well as portrait painting, I enjoy landscape and wildlife painting.

I believe nothing can match the mere presence of an original oil painting hanging on your wall. With oils, an artist can create a warmth and depth unequaled by any other medium. The crème de la crème of the art world making the most powerful statement possible about the owner and the only medium that, with care, can last centuries!

With portrait painting, I have never believed in capturing the 'essence of the subject', I prefer to try and capture the subject 'hook, line and sinker'. I sincerely hope you think my work does this.

I have kept this site rather small so as not to bore you with pages of paintings, as I am sure you will have reached a conclusion quite quickly as to whether my art is worthy of your consideration or not.

As someone who has been devastated by the loss of a loved one, I understand the need to have a little piece of love given back to you. So you may be assured that any commission I receive from you, for pet or otherwise, for a loved one, or a lost one, will receive my absolute and utmost attention to detail. Furthermore, to anyone not sure about purchasing on the internet, may I say this, if you are not delighted with your portrait, just say so and I guarantee to refund your money.
